What you'll pay

From the NIWA Statutory Tariff Schedule (Revised April 2017). Each fee is a separate Remita payment, calculated automatically from your vessel's craft type and gross tonnage and shown before you pay.

Application Form Fee

Once, when you start a vessel registration. Set by the tonnage you declare.

Q.2/Q.3 Survey Inspection Fee

After the inspection clears your vessel, and again at each yearly renewal. Set by craft type and the tonnage NIWA confirms.

Where a tonnage sits on a shared boundary (for example 10T or 500T), the lower band applies. Craft not covered by a band have their fee confirmed by NIWA before an invoice is raised.
